A cooperation agreement between HUAT and UCA (l'Université Clermont-Auvergne, France) was singed at 4 pm. (Paris Time) of March 9, 2018. Mr. Cheng Hongbing, Chairman of University Council and Party secretary of HUAT and Mr. Mathias Bernard, president signed in the agreement. Also present at the signing ceremony were Mr. Guo Douxi, director of president’s office, Ms. Ma Xun, director of international affairs office, Mr. Zhouhai Ying, dean of school of engineers, Ms. Chen Yufeng, dean of school of electrical and information and Ms. Zhao Yuqing from teaching department. The ceremony was presided by Mr. Garrait Bourrier, vice president of international affairs of UCA. 

At the beginning of the ceremony, Mr. Bernard made a welcome speech and then gave a brief introduction about the features of engineering education at UCA, its achievements and preparation work on the joint program between the two universities. He said that he was very much looking forward to the future cooperation.

Mr. Cheng Hongbing also made a short speech at the ceremony. He said there were three important purposes for this visit, one for friendship, another for cooperation and the last for learning. He expressed his hope that on the basis of previous cooperation, the application of joint program between the two sides and cooperation in the field of education of engineers would achieve successfully. There was a small talk between Ms. Chen Yufeng and Mr. Guitton, dean of school of information of UCA about cooperation models and talent training between the two school. 

Cheng Hongbing and his colleagues also visited LIMOS laboratories, Irstead research institute, Polytech college, School of information, language center, communicated with the relevant responsible person and teaching and research staff of UCA. They also had a meeting with students from HUAT, who are in the program of 3+3.
