With the arrival of freshman in early September, the International Cooperation and Exchange Office (ICEO) offered presentations for the new students and their parents about joint programs with different universities in U.S.A., Germany, France, England and so on.
Ms. Ma, director of ICEO, offered a presentation at the school of automotive engineering and school of Mechanical Engineering about a double degree program with University of Applied Science, Germany, which started in 2008. The program is set for the students who want to further study in Germany and obtain dual degrees both at home and abroad. Prof. Ma said the program is quite popular and successful with the students with the dream of studying in Germany. So far, more than 50 students have applied for the program and many of them have graduated, and more importantly, distinguished themselves in their companies at home or abroad.
Mr. Zhu Hancheng, one of the student in the program also attended the presentation and shared his experience of studying and living in Germany, which added more persuasion to the program.
At the school of Electronics and Information, Mr. Huang Yuening and Ms. Zhao Yuqing also made a brief introduction about the joint programs with U.S.A and France. They reminded the new students and their parents present at the meeting that besides funds, GPA and a foreign language are also vital for the students who want to be in the program. They asked the students to study English or French hard and get a better GPA from the first day they enter the university if they want to apply for the joint programs.
Apart joint degree programs, HUAT also have exchange programs with universities in South Korea, England, U.S.A and Germany. Two students from the school of economics and management, Ms. Hou Yunrong and Dang Rui, who went to DHBW, Germany as exchange student also shared their experience of leaning and living.
After the meeting, some student’s parents were happy and excited, saying that they didn’t expected that HUAT had done so much and so well in providing the students with opportunities of studying abroad. They also said that they would think about it over and find a program suitable for them.
