From August 12 to 15, 2018, the 18th annual Academic manufacturing automation conference of national institutes was held at HUAT. The conference was sponsored by the national research institute of higher education and co-sponsored by Dongfeng Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. 125 participants from 45 universities and institutions from all over the nation attended the conference.
At the opening ceremony, Mr. Zhang Youbin, vice president of HUAT and Mr. Zhang Rixin, general manger of Dongfeng Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd. made welcome speeches respectively. Professor Fan Dapeng, Chairman of the research association, delivered an opening speech.
During the session, professors and experts from different universities and institutions made reports related to the topic of manufacturing automation, such as intelligent manufacturing, big data drive, 3D printing, equipment design, robot key technology, green manufacturing, control system and so on. The meeting also discussed such things as identifying chairmen, secretaries-general and directors of each sub-committees, recommending candidate members of the council to the general association and decided that the next conference in 2020 would be hosted by Xi’an Jiao Tong University.
On the last day when the conference was over, the participants visited the automation factory of Dongfeng Off-road Vehicle Co., Ltd., Dongfeng Equipment Manufacturing Co., Ltd., and automation production of Nongfu Shanquan Company Co., Ltd. in Danjiangkou. It is said that some of the excellent essays would be recommended to such field journals as China Mechanical Engineering, Optical Precision Engineering, and International Journal of Mechatronics and Manufacturing Systems and so on.
