Under the invitation of Society of Automotive Engineers of China, a group of directors and photographers from Beijing Youth Film Studio came to HUAT and interviewed some members of HUAT racing car team, which will be part of a documentary called Students’ Formula. They had deep communication with vice president Zhang Youbing and other team guides. The topic covered future development, historical background, routines, management, technological innovation, views on present situation and future prospect of automobile industry.
During the interview, Mr. Zhang Youbing introduced information related to the reason why the school support the development of student formula, the importance of promoting students’ skills of engineering practice and spirit of craftsmanship while other guides such as Mr. Guo Yiming and Mr. Tang Deqiang, founders of the racing car studio introduced details of the racing car team in the past few years. Mr. Miao Yong introduced the present situation and future goal of the racing car team.
During the interview, when asked about the development of China's auto industry, the team members said that now referring to the auto powers, one may think of Japan and Germany. The engines we use in our racing cars in international competition are imported foreign brands. With the rapid development of Chinese automobile industry and ever-increasing technology, our national brands begin to distinguish themselves with unique features. There is an old saying which goes like “If the youth are strong, the country will certainly be strong.” As students of HUAT, we are all the reserve forces of the automobile industry and determined to contribute to the Chinese auto industry, believing that Made-in-China will be the main stream in the near future.
