From April 21st to 24th, the RoboWork 2019 Contest hosted by the Advisory Committee of Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Ministry of Education was held at Shaoguan College,Guangdong Province. A total of more than 8,000 teachers and students in 1,726 teams from 301 universities across the country participated in the competition, which consists of 19 major sub-competitions such as robot engineering innovation design, artificial intelligence, robot handling, robot racing, and robot sports for different project groups:graduates , undergraduates and vocational college students.
Three teams from HUAT :College of Electrical and Information Engineering Team, Graduate School Team and College of Science and Technology Team participated in the engineering innovation project and robot dance project. After two days of fierce competition, they won a first prize,a third prize and the best participation award.
It is reported that the RoboWork Contest has been held for 8 consecutive years. It is one of the most popular, professional and influential common wealth activities for engineering robot in China. The contest enjoys a high reputation with outstanding characteristics and quality education orientation, which plays an important role in cultivating students' comprehensive knowledge application ability, basic engineering practice ability and innovation consciousness, as well as in stimulating students' interest and potential in scientific research and exploration.
