On the arrival of the Qingming Festival, a commemorative ceremony reminiscing about the first president Meng Shaonong was held in front of his bronze statue in Yifu Library.At 10 o'clock in the morning,hosted by the vice president- Luo Yongge, the members of the National Flag Guards presented the flower baskets to Meng’s bronze statue.
Yang Lizhi, the deputy party secretary, led hundreds of teachers and students to bow to Meng’s bronze statue three times with the utmost reverence. Yang pointed out that he hopes that the students should inherit the spirit of arduous struggle and self-improvement,carry forward the tradition of diligence and dedication, promote the virtue of indifference to the fame and fortune, and stimulate the passion of the patriotic service to the prosperity of China.
