On March 27th, the signing ceremony of the agreement for the engineering education project between Hubei University of Automotive Technology and the University of Clermont Auvergne (UCA) was held in the conference room of Yifu Library of HUAT. Liu Yunmei, Deputy Mayor of Shiyan City, OLIVIER GUYONVARCH, Consul General of France in Wuhan, delegations from UCA, President of HUAT, Zhong Yuning, Vice President, Zhang Youbing and other leaders attended the ceremony.
On behalf of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government of Shiyan, Deputy Mayor Liu Yunmei warmly welcomed OLIVIER GUYONVARCH and delegations from UCA to visit Shiyan, and expressed many congratulations on the successful cooperation between HUAT and UCA.
Consul General OLIVIER GUYONVARCH said: The year of 2019 marks the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France. General Party Secretary Xi Jinping is also conducting a state visit in France, which opens a new chapter in Sino-French cooperation,therefore,today the successful signing of the agreement between two universities will also create a new model for education cooperation.
Zhong Yuning,President of HUAT, said:the two universities have established cooperation in teachers training and scientific & technological communications in the past five years. The visit of the delegations from UCA will be of great significance for promoting the cooperation and exchanges between the two universities in the fields of talents cultivation and technology research as well as international education.
The signing ceremony was hosted by Zhang Youbing, Vice President of HUAT.President Zhong Yuning, and Anne GARRAIT-BOURRIER, Vice President of UCA,signed an agreement on engineering education projects between the two universities for the purpose of promoting the cooperative engineering education project.
Ultimately, Vice Mayor Liu Yunmei pointed out:‘ I hope that Shiyan City,together with the City of Clermont Auvergne will take the opportunity of cooperation between the two universities to strengthen exchanges and cooperation for promoting the development of Sino-French relations.’
The delegations from UCA also visited the Institute of Automotive Engineers, the School of Electrical and Information Engineering, HUAT F1 Formula Team , the School History Museum, and the Library.
