On the afternoon of Sept 16, a seminar on the exchange program between Hubei University of Automotive Technology and Duale Hochschule Baden-Wuerttemberg (Stuttgart, Germany) was successfully held in room 1305, CFD of HUAT. Ma Xun and Zhao Yuqing from the International Cooperation and Exchange Office and Ma Shaojun, one of the previous exchange students, had an in-depth exchange with the HUAT students.
Ma Shaojun, from class 161, College of Economics and Management, spent a semester in DHBW as an exchange student from March to July this year. She gave the students a brief introduction to the aspects of transportation, diet, study and life in Germany, through which, she experienced a memorable different life. She also thanks to HUAT for providing such an opportunity and platform. Nervous yet eager at her first departure from her country, she did not know whether she could adapt to it. However, when the time came for her to return to China, she had some difficulty tearing herself away. During this short period of time in Germany, she carried forward the traditions of Chinese students’ diligence: she quickly adapted to the German teaching methods and successfully completed seven courses. She also actively participated in extracurricular activities and made friends from all over the world, and received scholarships in DHBW.
Ma Xun introduced the geographical location of Stuttgart and the basic situation of Duale Hochschule Baden-Wuerttemberg, and emphasized the program process, its advantages, professional curriculum selection and application documents. In addition, she introduced the exchange life of HUAT students based on German customs and the unique teaching mode in German universities. She also expressed warm welcome and sincere wishes to the students who had volunteered to participate in the exchange program, and believed that the students who participated in it and challenged themselves would have a better understanding of the program. After the seminar, Ma Xun and Ma Shaojun answered students’ questions in detail about the expenses, campus life and teaching mode,etc.
The exchange of this seminar will not only help to promote the students' understanding of the German university education model, broaden the students' horizons, but also provide insights for students who want to pursue further study abroad, which therefore will improve the international development of HUAT.
