On September 3, news of victories came that the delegation from College of Electric and Information Engineering of HUAT won 2 national second prizes , 2 second prizes and 3 third prizes of Huazhong Division, as well as 3 first prizes and 5 second prizes in the national preliminary competition in the 13th “Siemens Cup” China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge after fierce competition, which is a full demonstration of the solid professional foundation and strong practical ability of the students from HUAT. It is reported that the national preliminary competition of 13th "Siemens Cup" China Intelligent Manufacturing Challenge was held online and offline simultaneously from July 15th to 26th, 2019, which attracts more than 18,000 teachers and students from 6000 teams in nearly 600 universities across the country.
The competition was jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Education's Higher Education Automation Teaching Advisory Committee, Siemens (China) Co., Ltd. and the China Simulation Society. The competition has been successfully held for 12 sessions,which covers technological innovation, product development, engineering design and intelligent application in the field of intelligent manufacturing. It cultivates technical and innovative talents with complex engineering problem-solving abiities for the development of intelligent manufacturing in China. The competition is based on the real engineering projects and scientific research projects with real industrial equipment in real industrial environment. The engineering standards of industrial enterprises are used as the evaluation index, and the comprehensive ability and systematical thinking of students for finding complex engineering solution are comprehensively enhanced.
