On the afternoon of June the 19th, at the invitation of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Ebrahim Poulad attended the international salon held at the Center of Faculty Development , who gave us a lecture on teaching science to ESL students and discussed with teachers from HUAT for exchange of views.Mr. Poulad was a teacher in University of Ryerson of Canada, Xiamen Institute of Technology and began to teach classes in Sino-British cooperation programme between HUAT and UoB in June 2019.
Mr. Poulad systematically introduced the definition and development of EAL(English as an Additional Language) as well as its training objectives and teaching arrangement. Then, he discussed with the teachers about how to effectively teach the basic courses of English as a second language students through the comparison and case analysis of the students’ involvement, during which teachers are always asking questions about their own interests and Mr.Poulad took his own experience as an example to answer the teachers' questions about EAL and its teaching philosophy as well as teaching methodology in Canada.
