On June 18, 2019, Richard Thomas, Vice President from University of Bolton (UoB), Martyn Shaw, Director of Business Development, and Ben Chen, International Team Leader, visited HUAT.
Vice Presidents Luo Yongge and Zhang Youbing welcomed them and both parties expressed their wishes of further promotion of Sino-British cooperation programme by combining the advantages of HUAT’s automotive engineering and the excellent industry-oriented education of UoB for the purpose of cultivating application-oriented international automotive talents with solid professional foundation, outstanding practical ability, obvious innovation consciousness and excellent comprehensive quality.During their visit, Mr. Thomas also visited the College of Automotive Engineering and the Formula Student China(FSC) studio, and sat in a car created by HUAT students, accompanied by a senior student from Sino-British cooperation programme, whose excellent translation and professional knowledge deeply impressed the teachers and students.
During the Q & A session with programme students and their parents, Mr. Thomas, together with his team from UoB, gladly addressed their concerns and doubts regarding learning and living in Britain. They also took a picture together afterwards.
The Sino-British cooperation programme between HUAT and UoB was approved by the Ministry of Education P. R. China in the year 2014 and officially started enrollment in the year 2015. Up to now, there are more than 200 students under the programme, some of whom have gone to or will go to the UK to complete their studies. Immersed in the international education, the students are gaining a broader international vision and competitiveness for a good employment prospect.
