On the afternoon of June 10th, at the invitation of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office, Ms. Monika Kleinhubbert, who graduated from Southern California University and has been one of our faculty members to teach German courses for the dual degree program between HUAT and THU (Hochschule Ulm Technik/Ulm University of Applied Sciences) ever since September 2012, attended the international salon held at the Center of Faculty Development and exchanged views with more than 20 teachers from College of Mechanical Engineering, College of Electrical and Information Engineering, College of Automotive Engineering, and College of Foreign Languages.

Monika Kleinhubbert explained in detail to us the German scientific research paper writing norms, citations and annotation specifications, and how to cultivate scientific research ability with the vivid examples of the papers from HUAT & THU dual degree program students as well as visual demonstrations of their learning situation.

Ma Xun, general coordinator of the program and director of the International Cooperation and Exchange office, introduced that in September 2006, HUAT signed a dual-degree cooperation agreement with THU, which was renewed in May 2018. Students from mechanical and automotive or other related majors in HUAT can voluntarily study German for two and a half years since the first school year, continue their study in THU if passing the written examination and the interview given by the professors, and then return to HUAT to apply for a bachelor’s degree after completing study and obtaining bachelor's degree in THU. The dual-degree education program has been cooperated for more than a decade, and more than 40 students have already graduated, meanwhile more than half of the students who apply for graduate education in Germany choose to further their study at THU. The dual degree program has played an important role in adapting students to the study in German universities through language teaching, cultivating students' teamwork spirit and academic integrity to improve the level of academic paper writing, which is significant for the teaching in HUAT.
