Recently, the Grand Final of 13th iCAN International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition China was held in Hehai University. The HUAT team won the second prize of the National Finals. It is reported that the competition was sponsored by the Advisory Committee Innovation and Entrepreneurship Ministry of Education P. R. China , the Sub-Committee of Innovative Teaching, Peking University, Chinese International NEMS Society, the iCAN International Alliance, and the Communist Youth League of Nanjing Municipal Committee and other organizations. This year's competition attracted more than 10,000 contestants in 6,000 registered teams from 600 colleges and universities across the country. After 18 preliminary and quarter-final selections, 554 teams finally entered the finals, whose works cover such fields as artificial intelligence, smart agriculture, smart medical care, intelligent transportation, intelligent manufacturing, and intelligent education.
International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition was Initiated at Peking University in 2007, which focuses on technology fields such as semiconductor sensors and chips of the Internet of Things (IOT). It has been held in more than 30 countries and regions around the world, including Spain, Japan, the United States, France, Germany, and Hong Kong , covering more than 300,000 people in 700 universities. In 2010 it became an international innovation event. The competition encourages original science and technology innovation, with activities as carriers, and personnel training as the core, which helps those outstanding projects to connect with external investment, and further facilitates the creation of the "Widespread Entrepreneurship and Innovation" ecological chain.
