On the morning of June 23, HUAT’s 2020 graduation & diploma awarding ceremony were solemnly held in the auditorium. All the university leaders, the deans and branch party secretaries of colleges attended the ceremony. The ceremony was presided by Vice President Jian Wei.
As a graduate representative, Yang Wenjun from the College of Electrical and Information Engineering delivered a speech recalling the four years of university life and the caring from school during the epidemic: "The period of youth in HUAT will undoubtedly become the most important and valuable memory in our lives.”
Professor Zhang Hongxia, who was honored Model Director of the Academic Affairs Office of Universities in 2019 by the Ministry of Education, delivered a speech as a teacher representative. She commended the solid teaching style of teachers and the solid learning style of students in our school.
Under the oath of the student Liu Zhenyu from College of Mechanical Engineering, all the graduates stood up and made a solemn oath. The high and firm voice resounded throughout the auditorium.
In the warm applause, President Zhong Yuning made an affectionate speech, praising the spirit of the young people of HUAT during the epidemic. Zhong Yuning also hopes that the 2020 graduates will enjoy life, pursue happiness, and let the "self" bloom the flower of youth to achieve the "society" dedication with ambition, and create miracle and brilliance of the world for the new generation of people.
Vice-President Zhang Youbing read out the diploma award decision. The school leaders held a turning of the tassel ceremony for the 2020 graduates present and took a group photo with them. Finally, Vice President Jian Wei once again expressed his sincere hope and blessings for the graduates. After the graduation ceremony, the students took photos with the school leaders in front of the auditorium, which will be good memories for the rest of their lives.
