Recently, news from the Hubei Provincial Department of Education came that HUAT has been approved 1 national and 8 provincial “first-class undergraduate majors” construction projects. Among them, the vehicle engineering major has entered the national first-class major construction projects , and 8 other majors: computer science and technology, mechanical design, manufacturing and automation, industrial engineering, automation, material molding and control engineering, materials science and engineering, logistics management, and electronic information engineering entered the provincial first-class major construction projects.
HUAT is one of the two prefecture-level universities that have obtained national first-class major construction projects in Hubei Province. It is reported that in 2019, a total of 9,483 majors in 1059 universities had applied for national first-class undergraduate majors construction projects, covering 85% of undergraduate colleges and universities. The Ministry of Education of China approved 4054. Another 6,210 have been recognized as provincial first-class undergraduate major construction projects.
