On October 10-11, 2020, the Hubei Division semi-finals of the 9th National College Mechanical Innovation Competition(NCMIC) organized by the Higher Education Department of the Ministry of Education was held at Wuhan Business University(WBU). After fierce competition, the 8 projects recommended by our university to the provincial competition won 5 first prizes and 3 second prizes.
HUAT leaders attached great importance to students’ participation in the competition. The school competition organizing committee conducted two rounds of internal selection and review, and invited well-known experts and scholars in the industry to our university for two-day special counseling. All participating teams successfully completed all procedures of the preliminary contest through online methods, work introduction, physical display, and expert questions, and the 8 teams from our school went further into the semifinals, along with other 78 teams from other universities. During the semi-finals,all the HUAT teams finally won 5 first prizes and 3 second prizes with their excellent performance in the Hubei Division.
The main purpose of the competition is to guide colleges and universities to focus on cultivating college students’ innovative design ability, comprehensive design ability and teamwork spirit in teaching, to encourage more young students to actively participate in national mechanical design and machinery manufacturing industry, and to move from a big manufacturing country to a strong one.
