On November 17, the national final of the fourth China Vocational Education Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition(VEIEC) opened in Chongqing Industry Polytechnic College.

Two projects from HUAT passed through the preliminaries and semi-finals, provincial finals and experts blind review. In the national finals, on behalf of Hubei province , they eventually won a gold medal and a silver medal. It was also the first time for HUAT team to be on the stage of the national finals of innovative entrepreneurial competition. It is reported that Hubei teams have altogether won one gold, three silver and three bronze medals.

The competition is divided into three stages: preliminary competition, provincial competition and national competition. More than 10 million students from 31 provinces participated in the school-level preliminary competitions. More than 3,000 students from 110 vocational colleges in 29 provinces entered the finals. The participating projects involve more than 10 fields such as agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, food and related industries, cultural creativity, mechanical energy, electronic information, bio-medicine, etc.
