 President Hu Zhongjun met the Guests from Chosun University, Korea

On the morning of June 7th, President Hu Zhongjun and vice president Luo Yongge met Mr. Lian Shixi, the director of international affairs office of Chosun University, Korea and his colleagues in the administration buildinig.

 

This is the second time Mr. Lian visited HUAT. After his first visit, both sides talked and discussed in detail by e-mail about the potential cooperation in the future and agreed to sign a formal agreement of cooperation.

 

During the meeting, president Hu expressed his warm welcome to Mr. Lian and his colleagues and gave a brief introduction to HUAT’s outstanding educational resources, characteristics, comparative advantage over other universities of engineering and some research projects like automotive transmission technology, new energy automobiles and etc. He said that one of the important parts of HUAT’s work is to seek international cooperation and make HUAT open to the world and believes that the cooperation between HUAT and Chosun University will surely benefit both sides in the fields of academic and research exchange, students training.

 

Vice president Luo Yongge said that HUAT is moving forward to the development of internationalization. Apart from the cooperation with universities in English, German speaking countries, he said that HUAT would hope to cooperate with universities in other countries. At the initial stage of cooperation, the two parties can put two majors in trial and then, if it goes smoothly, deepen and extend the cooperation. Luo said that students from Chosun University are welcome to HUAT and take their internship in China. Finally he made some constructive comments on the details of the “2+1+2” cooperation program.


 

Lian Shiqian, the director of Chosun University also gave a breif introduction of Chosun University and expressed his hope that the “2+1+2” program would extend to other majors besides the two majors specified in the agreement. Mr. Lian expressed his hope that leaders and professors can visit Chosum University at a appropriate time in the future. At the end of the meeting, both sides signed on the agreement.
