 The First Regular Meeting of Chairman of the Alumni Associations is Held in Wuhan

On December 1, 2013, a special day when HUAT celebrated its foundation for 41st anniversary, the Chairmen, general secretaries, and representatives of the Alumni Branch Associations from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Wuhan, Shiyan, Xiangyang, Shandong, Anhui, Southern China and other parts of the country gathered together in the famous River City--Wuhan to attend, as scheduled, the first regular meeting of the Chairman of the Alumni Associations. During the meeting, recalling their past experience and their friendship they had at HUAT, they discussed and made some rules for the associations so as to contribute more to the future development of their alma mater.

 

The first regular meeting further clarified the principles, purposes and functions of the associations and reviewed and summarized the main work that had been done during the past year and also set a new target for the next year.

 

All the chairmen and representatives spoke their mind freely and attended the discussion in a harmonious and warm atmosphere in which many constructive suggestions were put forward for the further development of their alma mater.


 

President Zhong Yuning made a speech which outlined the present focuses of work of HUAT, such as improving HUAT by expanding campus space, investing on infrastructure, laboratory constructions and etc, so that HUAT would have brilliant development in the future. “Promoting the construction of collaborative innovation centers, encouraging teaching staff’s experience in enterprises and companies strengthening the building up of high level and professional talents and cooperation and exchanges between domestic and foreign institutions and universities are also among the focuses,” President Zhong said.

 

When it came to the alumni associations, President Zhong Yuning said that the alma mater would take their work as a fundamental, long-term and strategic one and put it on the agenda so that the associations would served as a buster to benefit both the alma mater and personal careers, and the development of territorial economy as well.
