On the occasion of the Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day "Double Festivals", the university held an international student gala in classroom 3205 on the evening of September 28th. President Zhong Yuning, Dean of College of Electrical and Information Engineering Chen Yufeng, Director of the ICEO Ma Xun, faculties of international student , foreign teacher Joel, all staffs of the ICEO and more than 40 Chinese and foreign students participated in the gala.
In his speech at the party, Yuning Zhong said that since the opening ceremony for international students held in December 2019, everyone has gained knowledge and friendship here. Zhong Yuning is delighted with the achievements of international students. He said that we are fighting against the epidemic together and as the saying goes ”a friend in need is a friend indeed” . At present, the epidemic is still unstable. We need to continue to overcome difficulties. We hope that international students will communicate with Chinese youth to promote people-to-people bonds and wish the students a happier life and study.
At the party, international students Andre, Ginas, and Jahid performed an ensemble of an electronic piano and guitar, and international students Raqibul and William brought Tai Chi performance, which attracted the attention of all students and presenting teachers. The game session not only exercised the students' Chinese, but also made the whole session full of fun, and the enthusiasm of international students who was also fully mobilized.
Ma Xun, director of the ICEO, said that this gala will ensure international students to experience Chinese traditional culture directly. It won't only provide Chinese and international students with opportunities for language exchange and cultural mutual learning, but also let Chinese and them feel the unique charm of National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival.
