Opening Ceremony of 2020 HUAT Undergraduate Freshmen

On September 24th , school leadership, teachers in charge of students’ affairs and all 2020 undergraduate freshmen attended the HUAT opening ceremony of 2020 undergraduate freshmen, which started with the majestic national anthem.
Secretary of HUAT Party Committee Cheng Hongbing, deputy secretary Yang Lizhi and Lin Xuerong, Vice president Jian Wei awarded scholarships to outstanding freshmen and prizes to excellent individuals and groups who made great achievements in the past year.
Model professor Ren Aihua spoke on behalf of teachers and Liu Xiangyu, the chairman of the 35th Student Union, spoke on behalf of students. They shared their understandings as to how to learn to be a good person, and do good things.
Freshman Yan Yuxuan was chosen to speak on behalf of new comers, whose dream to learn automotive engineering became true in HUAT. He was determined to study hard to realize more dreams, along with other fellow students.
At the end of the ceremony, the president Zhong Yuning, on behalf of the school, expressed a warm welcome and sincere congratulations to the 2020 new students. He happily said: “Today we gather at HUAT to witness one of the most important moments in the life of the 2020 new students. The students from all over the country now have a new name—’Huater’”.He put forward hope to the new students: to respect life and bloom in the following 4 years.
