||Founded in 2002, Physical
Education (PE) Department is responsible for overall physical education
for students and teachers and other sports-related activities. The
teachings are under the guidance of Dean and Office of Teaching Affairs.
PE consists of one teaching and research section, one testing
center for students¨ health, CPC branch, office, and Labor Union.
PE now has 23 faculties, including 19 teachers (6 Associate
Professors, 10 lecturers, 3 teaching assistants) and 4 auxiliary
teaching staff. Of which 10 were national referees, 6 of which were
master's degree holders and 3 are going to get master degrees. Its work
includes regular physical courses lecturing and extra- curriculum sports
activities for over 8000 students.
As for the sports facilities, there are one multi-purpose indoor
stadium, one standard plastic track fields, one standard
football field, 9 basketball courts, 8 table tennis rooms, 6
indoor badminton courts, 5 volleyball courts, 3 tennis courts, 2
fitness trails, one aerobics room and one Taekwondo room. All
these facilities cover an area of 41,642 square meters, among
which 2,966 square meters are indoor venues. These facilities
can satisfy the need for regular activity, physical exercise and
Apart from regular course-teaching work, PE advocate
various kinds of mass sport activities among students and staff
members, such as Taichi, long-distance running in winter, basketball
match, volleyball match, pingpang match, badminton match, sports
meeting in Spring and Autumn, etc. All these interesting activities
have enriched campus lives and strengthened the health of every
participant. Besides, PE promotes the idea of
self-management in all these mass sports activities, hoping to make
all participants to manage the activities by themselves while
providing the necessary facilities and guidance in the process.
|| In recent years, PE has composed various sports performances like Taichi, martial arts, Taekwondo, dragon and lion dance, etc on annual sports meeting. These performances, for their clear theme of life lies in movement, are welcomed and highly evaluated by all the students.
